Prince Charles & Camilla
Prince Charles has a number of distinguished hobbies - including hedge-laying, other gardening tasks, watercolour painting, polo, authorship and acting.
He is a big fan of eggs. At teatime the Prince enjoys a muffin and a boiled egg; chefs boil seven eggs for exactly four minutes to ensure at least one is perfect for muffin accompaniment. Charles also often asks for a boiled egg on top of other foods to make them taste better, such as when he eats steak.
In 2003, Prince Charles upset Sharon Osbourne when he sent Ozzy a bottle of Whisky as a get-well present!
The man is not a fan of McDonalds. Once, when discussing diabetes with a nutritionist in Abu Dhabi, he asked if there had been any luck banning the fast food outlet!
Prince Charles is a huge exponent of ecological thinking and is known for his caring attitude towards the environment. He has had his cars converted to run on bio-diesel, a replenishable and more environmentally-friendly fuel source.
He cannot abide genetically modified food, and is upset by the widespread use of chemicals and poor-quality livestock farming. He himself set up a company called Duchy Originals, which sells organic food made or reared on his land. All profits from the food sales go to suitable charities.
He is a big fan of the Harry Potter films!
After the tragic death of his estranged wife Princess Diana, Charles happily remarried in 2005. His wife is known as Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and she had always been the love of his life since they met when he was just a young man.
Prince Charles was the first heir apparent to study for a degree. His was obtained from world-renowned Cambridge University in 1970 and he was awarded a 2:2.
A children’s book written by Prince Charles was published in 1980. It was called The Old Man of Lochnagar, and Charles had originally written it for Prince Edward, his younger brother.
